- Thickness: We avoid generic claims like “5 cm is enough” or “8 cm guaranteed”. The correct thickness must be calculated according to the building's existing wall structure, orientation and TS 825. The typical range for Burhaniye is 4-8 cm; but we do this calculation after the survey.
How does the process work?
1. Survey and preparation
Whether the existing plaster has deteriorated, the crack map, balcony undersides and base-of-wall details are recorded. Communication with the site management is established and shared-area / service log issues are clarified. If neighbouring blocks have renovation plans, the timing is aligned.
2. Scaffolding installation
We use certified modular scaffolding; a load-distributing base panel and a safety bar at the top level are mandatory. On coastal buildings, the anchoring distance is kept short against wind loads.
3. Removal of old plaster and paint
Blistered plaster surfaces are scraped away; loose fillings are cleaned. A moisture test is done on the old paint. Points where rust is visible on the rebar under the plaster are fully opened, treated with rust converter and repaired with repair mortar.
4. Bonding
Approved bonding mortar is applied in strips along the edge and in dabs in the middle of the board (at least 40% of the surface). Boards are laid staggered and from bottom to top, with joints meeting completely.
5. Mechanical fastening (doweling)
Dowels are installed 24-48 hours after the board bonding has dried. On the Burhaniye coast, a calculation of 6 dowels per m² for EPS is a standard starting point; it increases depending on building height and wind load.
6. Reinforcement mesh and plaster
